This is “Ms. Dallas”…. I have gotten in trouble by my 5 year old a few times now for calling her just Dallas. Ms. Dallas was one of her gymnastics instructors last year so that is where the “Ms.” comes from. This shoot was…. interesting. She was an awesome sport and let me drag her all over the place. Here are just a few things our shoot included:

- Jokes about bums living in trailers….. bums living in trailers (they evidently drink a lot of iced tea in jugs)

- Boys staring at her while walking…. boys walking painfully into a pole because of the staring.

- An extremely long drive up some ALMOST impassible hills ;0)

- Scary camping guy (in all honesty I am pretty glad my husband was there because he was pretty scary. The camping guy… not my husband)

- Lot of Dallas and my husband ganging up and making fun of my driving skills.

It’s funny how I sometimes completely overlook some very obvious great locations just because they are “normal” to me. I grew up swinging off of this old bridge on a regular basis. We would all stand on the low water bridge under it… grab onto a worn rope with a stick tied to it like a handle… and swing out over the water and drop precisely in the right spot between two giant rocks. SUCH an INCREDIBLY stupid idea now that I think about it! What the heck was I thinking?!?! Other times I would sneak away with my then boyfriend (now husband) and watch the fireflies light up the trees. We even rescued a poor little lonely puppy when we were down there once! The low water bridge is gone and a big new bridge built in it’s place… so no more swinging into the water (which is probably a good thing safety wise). I am starting to sound like an old lady with all this reminiscing! I am glad that Chelsey recommended this location and it was an absolutely perfect day for the shoot!

Austin| Alpena Senior 2010

January 19, 2010

Alright, I am going to try to catch up on blog posts that I have neglected to share over the past few insanely busy months. I have to admit that I don’t think I have ever gotten off of the main road going through Alpena, but Austin and his mom showed me some really cool places “off of the beaten path”.

Toshia | Senior 2010

November 4, 2009

Toshia was such a trooper on her shoot(s). We started her shoot the first time and ended up getting rained on until we gave up and decided to try again another day. On the second part of the shoot it was FREEZING, but we ended up with some awesome stuff from both days… even if the weather wasn't "ideal".

Megan | Senior 2010

November 1, 2009

Okay, so the blog has been down for a few days and now that it is back up it is super confusing on my end. Everything looks completely different and I can barely even compose a post much less make it fancy in any way. This has sealed the deal that I need to be hosting my blog though so be on the look out for a link to a new blog hopefully in a few weeks!

Okay… Now, onto Megan…. I am pretty sure that I live in the most gorgeous town ever. I don't mean the scenery… I mean the people! You would never even know that she was freezing to death the entire shoot.

I am running behind on blogs and proof albums because of this nasty bug going around, but I promise I am working my butt off to get caught up! Thanks for being patient with me!

Senior 2010 | Taylor

October 13, 2009

When I met Taylor for her pre-session I immediately got excited. Anyone who loves vintage clothes and Sufjan Stevens has to be awesome! Warning: This sneak peek is going to be ridiculously long.

One last thing…. PLEASE do NOT email me asking if she is single! Random emails with questions like that are just creepy!

Taylor wanted to do her entire session at the sports complex for sentimental reasons…. I was a bit worried about getting a good variety of shots, but it turned out to not be nearly as hard as I thought it would be! I ended up a muddy mess by the end of the session, but sometimes you have to lay in the dirt for the perfect shot. Ms. Taylor wants to be a 5th or 6th grade teacher….. bless her heart, haha!
