We decided on a couch session for the R family and I think we made the right choice!

This is "Tiny Tim". He was in our yard with our 70lb Golden Retriever and our 6 month old 60+lb Newfoundland puppy. I saved his life! If I had left him out there with the dogs they would have cracked him open like an oyster! After I found a box and brought him inside to show the girls my three old proclaimed…. "His name is Tiny Tim and he is my Best friend!". I told her immediately that we could not keep Tiny Tim and that he had to go home with his mommy and daddy. She seemed okay with it at the time. We fed him some lettuce and she ended up talking me into keeping him overnight. When Tiny Tim started to look a little sad I decided it was time for him to go home. Oh, and YES, you can tell when a turtle starts to look sad. We put him in the car and took him to a wooded part of our farm to let him go. We all said our goodbyes and got back in the car. That’s when the tears started. She said that she missed her best friend and that bears would eat him because we left him in the woods. I have never even seen a bear around here! We had to spend almost two days of listening to her be sad about letting Tiny Tim go. I tried everything I could think of to explain to her why we had to let him go, but nothing worked. She hasn’t mentioned him all day today so hopefully she is over losing her "best friend". I am sure that from now until she is 13 she will think every turtle she sees is Tiny Tim.
