I have a lot of people ask where mine comes from… So many places! From my everyday life…. from the places I go…. from the people I meet. Inspiration is everywhere! I think you just have to keep your eyes and your mind open to see it. I have shared a few websites before that have some awesome inspiration and thought I would share another one… The Savvy Photographer. Check it out and be inspired! The girls and I picked the hubby up from work at 5:00. We didn't have anything to do so decided to run down and watch the hot air balloons take off for their race.
After that we headed back to our car and decided to head home. When we got to our road there were a TON of cars blocking our driveway. I had to get out and ask them if we could get down our driveway. While I was doing that… I realized that a bunch of them had landed in our field in our front yard! You think I would be excited, but then I looked at my Newfoundland's cage and realized he had broken out of it. I immediately started to panic asking everyone if they had seen my dog…. Just when I was about to start crying I heard him make a little noise under the porch… then almost had happy tears, but held them in. If anyone knows a good dog psychiatrist… let me know… poor guy.
Every single trailer that came down our road was so extremely kind. They all asked permission to drive in our field to pack up the balloons and several even offered to take us for a ride!
I asked a lot of questions before agreeing to it, but finally I did agree…. Here is Loo riding in the balloon! Yes, she did go up… quite far! I was assured that the rope was tied off and they were not going to just float away.
It was certainly a lot of fun and everyone was so kind! A lot of them gave us and the girls little gifts for letting them land in our field as they were leaving. Pretty sure this is one of those never forget moments.
I haven't shared any commercial photography in a while so I think it is about time. I guess you could say that commercial photography is where I got my "start" and for some reason I just love it! It could be that my love of clothing and children gets all smooshed into one shoot. This product is from a company called Noo out of Australia. They have some adorable stuff so be sure to check them out!
I can not even tell you how excited I am when a couple is up for anything! I had these two climbing… laying in the grass… smoochin'… and never once heard a complaint. I know that it may sound crazy when I throw an idea out there, but it is worth it in the end. I was also the photographer at their wedding which was absolutely gorgeous! A peek of those will be coming soon.
Yes… yes… I KNOW! I have been a horrible blogger lately. I am going to attempt to make up for it over the next couple of weeks. The posts will probably be in no particular order, but I hope you will enjoy them non the less.
I also want to let everyone know that we are in full swing for booking fall sessions! Days are booking up FAST so if you are interested in a session be sure to contact me SOON! Keep in mind that if you are interested in Christmas cards your session needs to be completed at the LATEST by the end of November. Speaking of Christmas cards…. Okay, now for the studio update. The ribbon cutting went fantastically well! A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped me get ready for it and to everyone that took time out of their day to attend it. For those of you who couldn't attend it… don't be too sad… I am planning on having another open house soon and having it of an evening so people who work during the day will be able to drop by. If you haven't seen the studio in a while you might be a bit surprised at the progress…. Take a look for yourself!
